Also sharing with you what it's really like to bring stories to life. Nothing beats the feeling of finishing a manuscript and looking forward to sharing a new story with the world. In addition, the joy of holding your published book in your hands and the satisfaction of knowing that your words have touched someone's heart. I have encountered many challenges and triumphs throughout my career as an author. Sometimes the publishing world can be daunting.
It’s estimated that an astonishing 4 million new books are published every year. That’s a heck of a lot of competition for readers and many authors feel as if they are a tiny drop in a vast ocean. Finding readers is getting harder all the time, as there are so many other distractions vying for our attention. Making a living from writing books is extremely difficult and marketing books in the current financial climate is hard, to say the least. I don’t have deep pockets and therefore cannot afford a large marketing budget.
I have been asked in the past why I continue to write when there are so few financial rewards. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t doing it “for the money,” after all there are many hobbyist authors out there. It’s my ambition to make a living doing something I love. Becoming an author is a thrilling journey where the words become your paintbrush and the story is your canvas. It's a world where imagination has no boundaries and the only limit is the extent of your creativity. Our path is filled with countless hours of solitude as you dive into the depths of your mind sculpting characters and crafting intricate plots. However, being an author is not just about writing, it's about discovering your voice, connecting with readers and leaving a lasting impact.
I want to leave my mark on this world, hopefully leave something to be remembered in years to come. with readers and leaving a lasting impact. Because being an author is not just a title, it's a way of life, an art form, a testament to the beauty of human expression, or in my case, writing is a passion and a burning desire to share all the stories floating around in my head. Writing is my oxygen. I have to write.
